I’m so confused by the concept of money right now. Like what does it even mean.  The nation is in some odd 3 trillion dollars…that isn’t even conceivable. How can that much money even exist.  I feel like if you had three trillion dollars even in million dollar bills you would drown in it. Why do things cost money? Why does one piece of paper have more value than another when the only difference is the numbers printed on it.  How can Canada just get rid of the penny? How can you put a price tag on an experience, or something so intangible and extraordinarily valuable as an education? Because at the end of it all, all you really get is a piece of paper that says you completed the necessary classes and got the required grades. Hopefully a job comes out of it.  But that’s it.  Supposedly it’s the education that got you the job and the American Dream, but I feel like I could be perfectly happy to go to Peru and disappear in an Incan tribe right about now.  That would never require another cent.  Let’s go back to a time before money was a real thing because in my mind it still isn’t. 

Too bad we live in a society where it is impossible to forget anything that has become normative. I ache for a simpler time.
